Shop Stuff

I've recently nearly doubled my shop space, with an addition onto it. But that means that I have to remodel the whole thing, wiring and all. Today, I've been making the drawers for some cabinets I salvaged. It was a set of upper cabinets, so their not very deep. I flipped it upside down, and using some blocks nailed into the studs to set it on, I screwed it into the wall. Then I made a frame for some drawers out of an old bed rail, and some scrap oak for the dividers.
Someone gave me 30 something birch cabinet doors. I cut up one of them into 3 pieces for the drawer faces. I cut off the edges that were routed half way through, and ripped them to size, and used them for the tracks for the drawers. It works well, and wasted almost nothing.
The drawer sides all came from some old pine 1x6 door facing. And the bottoms are lauan salvaged from a chest of drawers I took apart a long time ago.

Tomorrow I'm hoping to get a few things done: Install the top (an old headboard), put up wallboard, and the toekick. Oh, and sand off all the stain on the cabinets and refinish. That should be fun.
